NCAA Basketball 2020 Week 1 Top Games to Bet On

With the start of the 2020-21 NCAA college basketball season set to get underway on Wednesday, Nov. 25, now is a perfect time to take a look at who’s in action on opening night. With almost every team ranked in the preseason Top 25 in action, let’s find out which games highlight the first night of college hoops action on the 2020-21 schedule. That said, let’s jump right into action so you can start placing your bets against their College Basketball odds.

Top Games On Opening Night of the 2020-21 College Basketball Season

Drexel at Penn State

  • When: Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 1:00 PM ET
  • Where: Bryce Jordan Center, University Park, PA

Drexel went 13-18 a year ago in the Colonial Athletic Association while Penn State went 21-10 in the Big Ten. This opener might be a bit one-sided but Philly-based Drexel will almost certainly turn this one into a classic street brawl.

No. 4 Virginia at Maine

  • When: Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 2:00 PM ET
  • Where: Mohegan Sun Arena, Uncasville, CT

Don’t be surprised to see fourth-ranked Virginia, the 2019 national champs, keep Maine under 50 points in this regular season-opening mismatch.

North Carolina A&T at No. 8 Illinois

  • When: Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 2:00 PM ET
  • Where: State Farm Center, Champaign, IL
  • TV: BTN

No. 8 Illinois has some high hopes after going 21-20 last season and a solid 13-7 in Big Ten play to finish just one win behind Maryland, Michigan State and Wisconsin a year ago.

Northern Iowa at No. 15 West Virginia

  • When: Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 2:00 PM ET
  • Where: Sanford Pentagon, Sioux Falls, SD

Expect No. 15 West Virginia to cause a ton of turnovers against Northern Iowa in Bob Huggins’ up-tempo, full-curt press style of play!

Lamar at No. 17 Houston

  • When: Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 3:00 PM ET
  • Where: Fertitta Center, Houston, TX

While No. 17 Houston isn’t quite the same ‘Phi Slamma Jamma’ unit they once were decades ago, the Cougars are looking good after going a stellar 23-8 overall and 13-5 in conference play last season to finish atop the American Athletic Conference last season.

Bowling Green at No. 25 Michigan

  • When: Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 4:00 PM ET
  • Where: Crisler Center, Ann Arbor, MI

No. 25 Michigan is a team on an upward trend under head coach and former school superstar Juwan Howard. The young Wolverines, who went 19-12 last season, have a ton of talent and should cruise to victory in this opener.

Morehead State at No. 10 Kentucky

  • When: Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 6:00 PM ET
  • Where: Rupp Arena, Lexington, KY

John Calipari’s perennial collection of one-and-done future NBA performers will look to get their 2020-21 campaign started off in style. Expect the loaded Wildcats to easily top the 80-point plateau in this opener!

Eastern Michigan at No. 13 Michigan State

  • When: Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 6:00 PM ET
  • Where: Breslin Center, East Lansing, MI

Michigan State went 22-9 last season and 14-6 in Big Ten play to finish tied for the regular season conference crown a year ago. Eastern Michigan will look to pull off the shocker after going 16-15 last season, but the Eagles are facing a serious uphill battle in this all-Michigan opener.

Charleston at No. 16 North Carolina

  • When: Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 6:00 PM ET
  • Where: Dean E. Smith Center, Chapel Hill, NC

No. 16 North Carolina went 13-18 and just 6-14 in ACC play last season in what was one of the worst seasons in program history. Still, the Tar Heels are loaded with elite talent and will enter the upcoming campaign with a sizable chip on their collective shoulders.

No. 3 Villanova at Boston College

  • When: Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 7:00 PM ET
  • Where: Mohegan Sun Arena, Uncasville, CT

Third-ranked Villanova went a stellar 24-7 overall and 13-5 in Big East play to finish in a three-way tie for first place with Creighton and Seton Hall. Now, however, the perennially-powerful Wildcats will enter the new season with some legitimate hopes of winning their third national championship since winning it all in 2016 and 2018. Last season, Boston College went 13-19 overall and 7-13 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

No. 22 UCLA at San Diego St.

  • When: Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 10:30 PM ET
  • Where: Viejas Arena, San Diego, CA

No. 22 UCLA might be the only team with a national ranking in this affair after going 19-12 overall and 12-6 in Pac-12 play, but unranked San Diego State went a stupendous 28-1 overall and 17-1 in Mountain West conference play. This opener could be the best matchup on the entire opening night slate of action.

No. 1 Baylor vs. No. 17 Arizona State

  • When: Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 9:00 PM ET
  • Where: Mohegan Sun Arena, Uncasville, CT

Second-ranked Baylor went a stellar 26-4 overall and 15-3 in Big 12 play and enter the upcoming 2020-21 campaign with some more than legitimate national championship hopes. Arizona State went 20-11 overall and 11-8 in Pac-12 play and the Sun Devils return a Player of the Year candidate in gifted point guard Remy Martin while adding a pair of big-time players in five-star recruit Josh Christopher and four-star recruit Marcus Bagley – the brother of Sacramento Kings forward Marvin Bagley III. As a side not, Baylor head coach Scott Drew won’t be on the sidelines for this opener following a positive COVID-19 test that was announced on Sunday.

MyBookie’s software and lines are in line with other books, but they really stand out with the promotions. They are more frequent and offer better deals than their competitors. I’ll never go back to another book.
