ATP Early 2021 French Open Betting Odds & Analysis

ATP Early 2021 French Open Betting Odds & Analysis

The start of the 2021 French Open might still be almost three weeks away from its May 24 start date, but it’s never too early to start making preparations, particularly when it comes to wagering on the majors.

As usual, the incomparable Rafael Nadal is the prohibitive favorite heading into Roland Garros at -120. World No. 1 Novak Djokovic is next on the odds list at +200 with Dominic Thiem listed with the third best odds at +400. Red-hot Stefanos Tsitsipas is a +800 pick while Daniil Medvedev rounds of the top five favorites at +1800.

Let’s look forward at what could lie ahead in the 2021 French Open so you can start planning your bets against their French Open odds.

Early 2021 ATP French Open Betting Preview

Odds to Win 2021 French Open

Rafael Nadal -120

Rafael Nadal has won four straight titles on the red clay of Roland Garros and a mind-boggling 13 titles overall. The King of Clay failed to win the French Open in 2009, 2015 and 2016, but he’s win every title outside of those years since 2005. This year, Nadal will look to tie his record of five straight in Paris like he did from 2010-2014. A year ago, Nadal thrashed Novak Djokovic in the finals 6-0, 6-2, 7-5.

Novak Djokovic +200

The Serbian won it all in 2016 and has been in the finals in 2012, 2014, 2015 and last year. Unfortunately, there’s this guy standing in his way that laid an emphatic smackdown on him in last year’s finals> What’s his name? Oh…I’m sure it’ll come to me at some point.

Dominic Thiem +400

Thiem reached – and came up short – in consecutive finals appearances against Nadal in 2018 and 2019 but fell short of the finals last year. Still, the Austrian is generally recognized as the second best clay court player in the world, although Stefanos Tsitsipas appears to be in line to hold that mythical title these days. A run to the quarterfinals at the very least sounds about right in 2021. fortunately, the 27-year-old is a modest 5-4 on the year at the time of this writing and won’t be one of my top three picks to win, if that helps.

Stefanos Tsitsipas +800

Speaking of Tsitsipas, the 22-year-old Greek star is 26-6 on the year with one title on clay at the Monte Carlo Masters last month. Tsitsipas then reached the finals in Barcelona where he took the first set off of Nadal before falling in a three-set thriller.  Tsitsipas looks to be one of the four best players in the field this year and could very well book a spot in the semis.

Daniil Medvedev +1800

I love the 25-year-old Russian’s cerebral thought process on court and picked Medvedev to win the 2021 Australian Open. Well, that pick was clearly a reach with Medvedev completely collapsing in his straight sets loss against Novak Djokovic. Still, Medvedev is 17-3 on the year and is just too good to not make a decent run at Roland Garros. Then again, the Russian is 0-4 in four French Open appearances and has never made it out of the first round. Save your money on Medvedev, he’s not winning.

Andrey Rublev +1800

The 23-year-old Russian is 26-6 on the year with one title. More importantly, Rublev had his best run in the French Open a year ago by reaching the quarterfinals. Could another step forward be in the works for Rublev and his powerful forehand? As the legendary Marv Albert is fond of saying…Yes!

Alexander Zverev +2000

The 24-year-old German reached the quarterfinals at Roland Garros in 2018 and 2019, but fell in the fourth round a year ago. Zverev is a very good clay court player, but right now, I think he’s been surpassed in terms of grand slam potential by guys like Rublev and Tsitsipas at the very least. Zverev is  a modest 11-7 on the year. I’m not feeling it here for Sascha.

Diego Schwartzman +2500

I absolutely love the diminutive Argentine and believe he’s quite capable of making a run to the semis at the very least. Schwartzman. Schwartzman won the title on clay in Buenos Aires and I expect him to challenge for a berth in the finals after making a run to the semis here a year ago.

Roger Federer +3000

Federer had been the second best clay court player in the world for many years. The Swiss maestro reached the finals at Roland Garros every year from 2006-2009 while winning it all in 2009. Overall, Fed has made five French Open finals and three semifinals appearances, including 2019 the last time he suited up. A long layoff and some rust will likely see the greatest player of all-time dispatched somewhere around the quarterfinals (I think).

I have had a great experience with this site. Deposit and payout methods are fairly easy. Betting is pretty self explanatory as well. Anytime I’ve had any issues (and I’ve had a few due ti my own ignorance at times) customer service has been wonderful and extremely helpful.
